Update: May 15, 2008
Hello again! I've got some good news. Starting us off, Pledge Drive Story #1, "The Misaqht," is now unlocked thanks to a generous donation. We hope to have it up in the Library section for your reading enjoyment as soon as possible.
On that note, a whole slew of new stuff has gone up into the Pledge Drive. If you want to know more about how this works, you can head here:

Once you've got an idea how it all works, check out some of the stories currently up for pledges!
"Plot Six": Spurred on by a friend and generous amounts of drink, a haunted blue-collar worked tells the tale of why he no longer works at a local cemetery.

"Lunchtime": Lunchtime at school is a time or relaxation and fun, when one rarely gives a second glance to the inpsirational posters on the walls. But what happens when that inspiration becomes something twisted and evil?

"The Awakening": A ancient terror awakes beneath the sands of Ylelon and finds itself in a world completely changed from what it knew. This evil is relentless, enduring, remorseless...but there's something worse that even it is afraid of, watching the land..."

"Ember and Magma": The Lonely Winds are not the only troupe of monster hunters to ever operate in Ylelon. Far from it, in fact: over the centuries since the land was settled countless individuals have taken it upon themselves to serve the public interest by seeking out and destroying dangerous elements of the supernatural that had permeated society. Their means and motives varied greatly, but were usually backed by a desire to do good.
Unfortunately, the lens of history rarely reveals motive, but more often reminds us that the road to hell often is paved with good intentions…

That's all for right now, but check back soon, I'm cranking these out as fast as I can.
What Flight has to say . . .
The Lonely Winds is an ongoing, serial storyline, with each novel composed of four novella-sized "episodes." The series takes place on the world of Rond, and follows the lives and adventures of a group of monster hunters known, interestingly enough, as The Lonely Winds. Each episode details an important event or span of time in the lives of these stalwart monster hunters as they wage their shadow war against the horrible creatures that plague their homeland, unrestrained by a society that does not even acknowledge their existence.
Like much of my work, The Lonely Winds itself is a genre-bending fantasy novel combining elements of science-fiction, action, horror, comedy and adventure. My efforts to blend many of my interests into a single cohesive story have produced something unique, thought-provoking and, to my great pride, something I have found people of all cloths can read and enjoy.
For more information, just browse around the site. Hit the Characters button to see biographies about major characters who appear in the first novel. (Yeah, "Characters" is pretty self-explanatory, huh?)
I'm also working on some short stories and other serials, both related to the Lonely Winds mythos and non-. I plan to have a number of them up to read in the Library before long. Speaking of the Library, the first three novellas have now been unlocked, so you're free to stop by and read them at your leisure. If you like them, toss me a donation in the time-honored tradition of street musicians, Victorian-era surgeons, and other fine beggers, and help me produce more stories to share with the world! (That didn't sound too pretentious, did it?)
If you're a new fan and want to share your thoughts, or even just want to hang around, feel free to stop by the forum. It's free and easy to sign up and we have a great selection of sub-forums to browse. Check it out!
