George Manor

Little is known of the enigmatic commander-in-chief of the Lonely Winds. He appears to be in his sixties, yet he exudes health and vigor like a man in his prime. Like his home, which bears his name (or he its--no one is really certain), he has been around in the same state for living memory. He is immeasurably wealthy, yet there is no indication of where his resources come from. He rarely ventures beyond the curious confines of his home, yet he has vast knowledge of the world beyond, how it works, and where it seems to be going.

Even George’s state of mind is questionable. He is clearly very intelligent, but he makes remarks and sometimes performs actions that make others question his sanity. He wears bizarre, clashing outfits, and makes strange and often confusing jokes, occasionally at the most inappropriate times.

Despite all this George is undeniably the brains and driving force of the team, for without him, there would BE no team. He provides everything the Lonely Winds need: weapons, training, clothing, food, medical supplies--anything that would possibly be useful to the team in their ongoing fight, George makes available without a fuss. On more than one occasion, he has quickly procured contraband materials for the team to use in short order. He offers moral support to the team, too, looking out for their mental states and patching them up with his extensive physician’s skills when they are hurt in battle.

Yet there is a dark side to George as well. Most of the time he seems unswervingly compassionate and gentle, regarding all people of every station in life as equal--and to be cherished. But in his darker moments, George has shown himself capable of tremendous anger and violence. While he appears to be merely an eccentric old man, Will is wary of him, and hints that there is more to the enigmatic founder of the Lonely Winds than meets the eye...
