A closer look at the NFL Week 10 match-up and 4 bold predictions for the Panthers vs. Falcons game.
The Panthers have a chance to clinch the NFC South this week, and while they haven’t been doing it with style, maybe some *bold* predictions can help them get there.
The “panthers vs cardinals predictions” is a weekly article that will make bold predictions for the upcoming week in the NFL. In this week’s article, we will be making 4 predictions.
For the second week in a row, the Arizona Cardinals have yet to decide on their starting quarterback. It was against the San Francisco 49ers last week, and they decided to play backup quarterback Colt McCoy. They are hoping to have superstar quarterback Kyler Murray back under center this week against a Carolina Panthers squad that is struggling to remain in the postseason race.
With thirteen victories to Arizona’s two, Carolina has dominated the all-time series between the two clubs. In reality, the Cardinals have lost five consecutive to the Panthers, with the majority of those victories coming under the leadership of Cam Newton, the finest quarterback in Panthers club history. Newton has returned to the Panthers after the injury to starter quarterback Sam Darnold, as you may have heard. Newton may not be engaged in the game plan enough to make our list this week, but if he shows up or serves as a pseudo coach from the sidelines, he might still have a tiny influence. But for this week, here are four bold predictions for the Cardinals’ showdown with the Panthers in week 10.
Week 10 Predictions for the Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray will not be in the lineup.
Brian Burns, a pass-rusher for the Panthers, is one of the finest in the NFL, and he creates so many one-on-one chances for his teammates. It’s easy to understand why the Cardinals would want to hold off on Murray for another week, especially because Derrick Brown and Haason Reddick are generally the ones who benefit.
In addition, they face a crucial division matchup against the Seattle Seahawks in week eleven, when Russell Wilson and potentially Chris Carson will be returning. That leaves two games before the bye week, and if the Cardinals believe Murray will only be able to play in one of those, they may choose for the divisional clash rather than bringing him back this week.
3. Eno Benjamin will have more rushing yards than James Conner.
Conner had a monster game last week, rushing for over 173 yards and three touchdowns. Despite this, Eno Benjamin, his backup for the day, was able to gain 39 yards on nine runs. We might see Benjamin having some quick value in real-life and fantasy football if their roles start to converge, similar to how Arizona was employing Conner and Chase Edmonds before he was injured.
Conner is projected to get the lion’s share of the carries this week and for the near future until they feel they can completely trust Benjamin and/or Edmonds returns, thus most of Benjamin’s yards will have to come via the air for this forecast to come true.
2. A.J. Green will score a touchdown.
Green has been overshadowed by a few other pass-catchers this season, with just three touchdowns. He’s also had to cope with James Conner, his team’s rushing back, who leads the NFL in total touchdowns. Those aren’t simple issues to cope with when you’re nearing the end of your career.
It hasn’t fully stopped him, either, as he had been averaging a touchdown every other game until his final two outings. When you consider that Green was away last week and will return this week from COVID-19, it’s been about a month since he hit paydirt–to put it another way, the guy is overdue.
1. The Cardinals are going to lose this game.
In the end, the Cardinals will find it difficult to beat numbers four and three on our list of predictions. Due to the Cardinals’ inability to run the ball, they will find themselves in unfavorable down and distance circumstances, allowing Carolina to take advantage of McCoy’s weak arm.
Carolina is also playing with a backup quarterback in P.J Walker, so expect a low-scoring game. Kliff Kingsbury, the Cardinals’ head coach, may approach Kyler Murray after the game and ask, “So, you okay for next week?”
