I Want to Keep Playing With an Edge is a blog post written by the author. The author discusses how they were able to play with their significant other without cheating.
Giannis Antetokounmpo isn’t one to dwell on the past. The two-time MVP and Milwaukee Bucks player relished the moment in late July when he scored 50 points to lead the Bucks to their first NBA championship in 40 years. In Game 6, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns 105-98, igniting a raucous victory party.
The Greek Freak hasn’t bothered to replay the game since then. He does not intend to do so. He recently stated why he doesn’t want to go through the glory days again.
When it mattered most, Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered.

During last year’s playoff run, Antetokounmpo’s troubles at the free-throw line were well discussed. On the road, spectators ridiculed him as they timed how long it took him to take his shot. When the Bucks won their first NBA championship since 1971 in Game 6, Antetokounmpo had the final laugh.
As the Bucks won the title, the Greek Freak hit 17 of 19 foul throws and ended with 50 points. He also had 14 rebounds and five blocks to his credit.
More significantly for Antetokounmpo, he won his first NBA championship.
“People said I couldn’t make free throws, but I did today.” According to ESPN, Antetokounmpo stated after the game, “I’m a friggin champion.”
Antetokounmpo’s effort was the third in the series in which he scored at least 40 points and grabbed at least 10 rebounds. When his team needed him the most, he delivered. In the series-clinching game, he was at his best.
Giannis Antetokounmpo will not watch his incredible Game 6 performance again.
Antetokounmpo was all smiles after the Bucks won their game against the Suns. He savored the moment, relishing it and reflecting on how far he had come from his days as a poor Greek kid. He immediately moved on after completing his celebrations.
He’s never gone back in time to relive the experience.
In a video released by the Bucks on YouTube, he stated, “It’s in the past.” “We have to go on, for better or worse.” Obviously, the end product is fantastic. We won the NBA title, but staying in it for too long makes you feel at ease.
“It takes the edge off of me.” I want to be the best I can be and keep playing with a competitive edge. I don’t want to be pleased, and I believe you may be happy with yourself if you see a lot of highlights and video of you performing well.”
During Game 6, Antetokounmpo said he was in a zone.
Antetokounmpo was completely focused on the floor during Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals. He claimed to be fully immersed in the present moment, never losing sight of what was in front of him.
“One possession at a time,” he said, “I was so tied in.” How can I assist in rebounding and gaining access to passing lanes? I was so engrossed that I don’t think I played for more than 10-15 minutes. I was simply so caught up in the moment that I didn’t notice what had occurred previously.
“It’s almost like when you drive a vehicle for like 10 minutes on your way home and all of a sudden you’re home but don’t remember how you got there?” You were completely entrapped. You’re operating on autopilot. In basketball, this is referred to as being in the zone. “I believe.”
Antetokounmpo claimed he didn’t think about basketball before the game.
“I was trying to remain as calm as possible while spending time with my family,” he said. When you think about the game, you feel a little nervous. You’re so engrossed in a game like that that it will go at a quicker pace for you. I’m certain that once I’m on the floor, I’ll be able to crank it up.
I knew the trophy was inside, and I knew I didn’t want to return to Phoenix because it was so hot.”
